The County Recorder was the first office created by the Constitution of the State of Indiana in 1816. The Recorder is elected to a four-year term, with a two term limitation. It is the primary duty of the County Recorder to record instruments submitted for recording and maintain those records for perpetuity.
Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30pm. Public Search Hours are 8:00 am through 4:20 pm.
The Recorder's Staff WILL NOT search public records or give any legal opinions. If you know the recording information, you may request a copy from our office. Otherwise, you may come in and use one of our public access computers.
You may now search our recorded documents online. Our document index extends back to January of 1987 and document images extend back to February of 1996. We have partnered with Doxpop LLC., so if you would like to learn more, please go to www.doxpop.com
